Bastiaan is a South African
attorney, patent attorney and
trade mark practitioner. He is
Past-President of the South
African Institute of Intellectual
Property Law (SAIIPL).
Bastiaan is an electronic engineer
with the usual general
technological background and he
also has extensive experience in
Plant Breeders’ Rights matters.
Due to Bastiaan’s wide range of
experience in intellectual
property matters, he enjoys
advising clients on the strategic
management of their intellectual
property portfolios.
Bastiaan is also involved in a
number of global intellectual
property organisations such as the
International Federation of
Intellectual Property Attorneys
(FICPI). Within FICPI, he is a
Bureau Member and currently the
Vice-President of this
international organisation. He
also takes responsibility for the
day-to-day management of Von
Seidels.
