Christine Strutt, trade mark attorney at Von Seidels, recently presented workshops on intellectual property considerations for small businesses and start-ups to coach and mentor World Design Capital (WDC) projects and collaborators who are participating in the WDC 2014 programme. Christine will also speak at a noteworthy event in the programme, the 7th South African Innovation Summit on 16-18 September 2014 at Cape Town Stadium. The theme of her talk will be “local innovation with a global mindset” and she will focus on local examples of innovator companies and thought leaders on the brink of international expansion.

What is World Design Capital? It is a distinction awarded to cities which recognise design as a tool for social, cultural and economic development. This year, it has been awarded to Cape Town, South Africa and it involves hosting a programme of over 460 design projects, events and initiatives aimed at transforming the city.

Please contact us for more information on our involvement in World Design Capital 2014 or if you are interested in any resources presented at the workshop.
