About Aletia Oberholster

Aletia has more than 14 years of experience in most facets of IP law and has a great passion for prosecution of trade marks. She has developed a deep understanding of different IP protection rights linked with the commercialisation thereof.

She gained her experience from working on a broad range of IP matters including transactional matters, trade mark clearance searches and filings throughout Africa and globally, as well as formal oppositions before the Registrar of Trade Marks in South Africa. She has been involved in furnishing advice and conducting due diligence exercises, advising on transactional trade mark agreements (license, assignment, hypothecation (security deeds)) and other transactional matters which affect IP rights. She managed various IP portfolios across Africa and globally. Aletia has a keen interest in conducting formal or informal client workshops on different kinds of IP protection for her clients, within their specific business sectors.  She firmly believes that clients who have a strong understanding of IP protection, will gain maximum commercial benefits ahead of their respective competitors.
