Charis is a candidate attorney in the patent department. She is focused on freedom-to-operate searches, patentability investigations and assisting with the preparation and filing of local patent applications. Charis has a keen interest in renewable energy technologies and the intellectual property strategies relevant to tech start-ups.

Charis completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering at Stellenbosch University. Her studies delved further into the thermo-fluids and renewable energy fields. She is currently studying towards a law degree through the University of South Africa.
