Josua is an attorney in the trade mark department dealing with trade mark searches and prosecution.

He obtained his BA(Law) degree and his post-graduate Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Stellenbosch University. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Intellectual Property from the University of Cape Town. His LLM thesis assessed the applicability of South African copyright law to style in filmmaking.

He has a particular interest in protecting the intellectual property rights of artists, performers and creatives in general, as well as exploring the impact of recent advancements in technologies on such rights.
