As a final year elective, she completed an IP dissertation. Sparked by her love for reading, her dissertation focussed on fanfiction and exceptions to copyright infringement, specifically the pastiche exception proposed under the Copyright Amendment Act. She explored the implications of this exception and the conflict between this exception and giving effect to moral rights.
