Michael Muller is a candidate attorney in the patent department. He has extensive experience in the industry having worked over nine years as a process engineer for a large petro-chemical company before he pursued a career as a patent attorney. Having worked with a wide variety of technologies in the chemical, mining, mechanical and metallurgical fields, he will easily grasp the intricate workings of the invention. He has a particular interest in green energy and innovative ways to reduce harmful emissions.
He holds a BEng (Chemical) degree after which he completed a BCom (Law) and LLB degree. He is currently focused on searching and filing patents as well a drafting and prosecution of patents.
South Africa’s ambition to establish a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) gigafactory has gathered real momentum following the release of the Localisation Support Fund (LSF) feasibility study undertaken by Ernst & Young Advisory Services (EY-Parthenon). According to the study, a gigafactory with an annual production capacity of between 5 GWh and 10 GWh is commercially viable, supported by growing regional demand for battery energy storage systems (BESS), a strong industrial base and access to many of the minerals required for battery production.
