Intellectual property law firm Von Seidels won the “Patent Firm of the Year – South Africa” recognition during Managing Intellectual Property’s awards ceremony held on 15 June at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
Leading global IP publisher, Managing Intellectual Property, manages these annual awards and ranks IP firms across the world through a comprehensive research process.
Only two other South African firms have received this patent award in previous years.
Von Seidels is headquartered in Cape Town. Since its beginnings in South Africa in 2007 the firm has expanded in Africa and added regional offices in Nigeria, Cameroon and Namibia.
Bastiaan Koster, managing partner of Von Seidels says “We are very pleased with being recognised as the leading patent firm in South Africa. This is the second time we have won an award from Managing IP since our firm began.
We thank our South African clients and also our foreign clients and associates for their support and trust in us. We are privileged to have a dynamic, trusted and very enthusiastic team that has grown over a period of 15 years to over 100 people. This award gives credit to each team member, and we thank them for their contributions to our culture, growth and success while maintaining our friendly and supportive working environment.”
The criteria for this award is not only based on size but also on feedback from clients, peers and other international IP firms.
This year Managing Intellectual Property also ranked Von Seidels in Tier 1 for the first time for trade marks in South Africa and recognised partner Christine Strutt in its Top 250 Women in IP.
