Bastiaan Koster is a Partner, Patent Attorney and Trade Mark Practitioner at Von Seidels. Bastiaan has a broad understanding of the South African, African and international IP landscapes, having worked extensively across both patent and trade mark disciplines. His formal training is in electronic engineering, complemented by legal qualifications and registration as both a patent attorney and trade mark practitioner.
A respected leader within the global IP profession, Bastiaan is a past President of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law and a past President of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys. Through his long-standing involvement in international IP associations and committees, he has developed deep insight into current global intellectual property issues. He is a regular speaker at international IP conferences and regional summits where he shares perspectives on the evolving IP landscape and opportunities across Africa.
