Von Seidels client awarded for designing the Most Beautiful Object in South Africa.

Last year, Von Seidels partnered up with the Guild Group and the Design Foundation to sponsor and present the Future Found Award at the 2017 Design Foundation Awards.

The Future Found Award recognises a young designer who has shown innovation and already achieved a degree of excellence with limited resources. The 2017 award was presented to Thabisa Mjo, Creative Director of interior and product design firm Mash.T Design Studio, for her stunning Tutu 2.0 Pendant Light (which is now being featured in Nando’s restaurants across the country).

Thabisa is clearly on a winning streak, as her light was recently named the Most Beautiful Object in South Africa at the 2018 Design Indaba.

According to the Design Indaba website, the annual search for the Most Beautiful Object in South Africa challenges notions of beauty in design and engages South Africans with the question of what constitutes beauty. The win is a big feather in Thabisa’s cap, as she follows in the footsteps of influential names such as Laduma Ngxokolo, Gavin Rajah and Kirsten Goss.

We are excited to be working with this talented designer and look forward to watching her grow from strength to strength.
