Martin Vermeulen is a patent attorney at Von Seidels and focuses on the drafting and prosecution of local and international patent applications. He holds a degree in mechatronic engineering and a law degree.

Martin has advised many clients on the patentability of inventions and specialises in the preparation and filing of local and foreign patent and registered design applications. Martin also conducts local and international patentability searches, local freedom to operate searches and drafts legal opinions relating to intellectual property.

He has a keen interest in mechanical, electrical and computer implemented technologies.

In particular, Martin has drafted patent specifications in the following fields:

• tracking and security systems;
• biomedical engineering;
• additive manufacturing;
• automation and control systems;
• mining, mineral processing and electric furnaces;
