About Werner van Straaten

Werner is a trade mark attorney with a lecturing and research background in copyright and related rights. His focus is on trade mark searches and prosecution.

Werner obtained his LLB in 2013 and started working as an academic associate at the University of Pretoria. In 2016, he was appointed as assistant lecturer in the Law of Contracts and Intellectual Property Law. In 2017, he obtained a Masters degree for his research in Copyright Law.

Werner is also a registered arbitrator at the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA).
